American Artist Watercolor Article

I'm quite pleased with a nice feature article in the Spring 2011 American Artist Watercolor magazine. Bob Bahr wrote a very nice article about my work. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen. It should be on the newsstands soon.

  2. Just the opening page on your post has so much insight and clarity about painting - can't wait to read the whole thing.

  3. Thanks Wren. The writer was quite good. My only complaint was on the front page. In the subtitle he says I use white paint. In fact it is just the opposite. I rarely if ever use white paint. These things happen.

  4. I wondered about that part of the article. Watercolors that use white always take on that gouache look, and your paintings look to clean for that. Most purist watercolorists would consider this slander! An outrageous scandal! Your publisher is fortunate that you are so even tempered.

  5. I'm partly to blame. When I was given the rough draft, I over-read the subtitle and didn't notice it. In fact, I didn't notice until I had seen the article a few times. It was an innocent mistake. I hope the watercolorists who read the article don't go out and buy a lot of Titanium White :).
