Opening Reception

The Artistic Visions of the Golden Gate Bridge opens Thursday, May 3rd. The Reception for the Artists goes from 5:30-8:00 PM at the George Krevsky Gallery, 77 Geary Street, San Francisco. 

There are around 30 artists, so it should be a very interesting show.

Artistic Visions of the Golden Gate Bridge

I was pleased to learn recently that two of my paintings will be included in an exhibit entitled, Artistic Visions of the Golden Gate Bridge at the George Krevsky Gallery in San Francisco. The show, which is marking the 75th anniversary of the opening of the bridge, will feature numerous artists and their interpretations of the bridge. The show opens May 3rd and runs through June 9th. 2 Shows, 2 Openings, 4 Days, 4 Paintings

The California Art Club Gold Medal Exhibit opens on Saturday at the Autry National Center in Los Angeles. Three of my paintings will be featured: Palace of Fine Arts, Kearny Street Painter, and Fontana di Nettuno. Then next Tuesday, the American Watercolor Society International Exhibition opens at the Salmagundi Club in New York. South Anchorage, Golden Gate Bridge was juried into that show.

Northwest Watercolor Society Exhibit

I was pleased to learn yesterday that my painting, Civic Center, San Francisco, was juried into the 72nd annual exhibition of the Northwest Watercolor Society. The exhibit opens April 23rd at the Seattle Design Center and runs through May 25th.

I've thought about entering for many years, and finally got around to it. Next year I will be a juror and giving a workshop, so it seemed to be the right time.

Golden Gate Bridge Series

 When I learned a couple of years ago that the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge would take place in 2012, I decided to take a stab at painting the bridge. This bridge is probably in the top 5 of the most photographed and painted bridges in the world. If I were to do this I wanted to try to paint it in ways that may not have been done before.

So here are the eight to date. The last one (bottom right) was just finished yeaterday. I did just learn that the first one (upper left corner) just sold, so it has a new home.

145th Annual Exhibition of the American Watercolor Society

I'm very flattered to learn that my painting, South Anchorage-Golden Gate Bridge, was juried into the 145th Annual Exhibition of the American Watercolor Society. The show opens April 1 at the Salmagundi Club in New York.
